Treehopper - Entylia carinata

Treehopper - Entylia carinata
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
June 24, 2008
Size: 4mm (5/32") adults
Treehoppers - Entylia carinata - I believe at different stages of development. They were under a leaf of a thisle.
1st pic : all of them on underside of the leaf.
2nd pic : A grouping showing all levels of development found. What is the species of that ant ? What is it
doing amongst the treehoppers ?
3rd pic : An adult.
4th pic : a darker colored adult.
5th and 6th pic : an immature.
7th and 8th pic : An even younger immature.

Please confirm ID and if these are indeed various stages of development ?

Yes. a nice family of Entylia
We can't confirm the species. Seems there's some taxonomic flux if we remember Dr Hamilton's comments. One thing that is fascinating in your image is how much the adults who are standing so their crests are not visible look like Publilia, which Dr Hamilton says may really belong in this same genus. Nice addition to the guide! (PS you have the same size listed for all the images, even the tiniest ones. You may want to change that)
