A black beetle that looks like a click beetle but somehow I thought it was a little different. ID or info would be great. Thanks.

It looks like a click beetle to me, but there are two ways to tell for sure.
1. Grab the beetle and hold it on top and bottom between thumb and forefinger, or else lay it flat on its back. If it clicks, it's a click beetle.
2. It might not choose to click, however, so you need to see if it has a clicking mechanism on its underside. You might need a magnifying glass, depending on how good your close vision is and how small the insect is. Here's what to look for:
