by my opinion. Tim told us the pale spots being connected in 9-notata, which, I´d say, is not the case here. The thin pale line probably is the intersegmental membrane between head and pronotum. Also, the head has 2 pale spots in all californica in the guide, while the present specimen of 9-notata has the anteriour half of the head entirely pale.
