Monsoon beetles - Ligyrus ruginasus

Size: 3/4in
Last year, this was by far the most common beetle in NW Tucson at lights at night. This year so far, none. Yesterday we had the first monsoon downpour - and in the evening, the first 5 beetles (during only 1/2 h light) turned up.
