Coral Hairstreak - Satyrium titus

Coral Hairstreak - Satyrium titus
(outside of ) Conyers, Rockdale County, Georgia, USA
June 6, 2005
Size: 8/16"
This Coral Haistreak is butterfly species number 90 for the property here (which is almost 2,000 acres). It is nectaring on Butterfly weed which was purposely planted this spring in hopes of attracting it. My theory is if you plant it they will come! I was amazed at how small it was. It was definitely smaller than the book indicated.
