Do you know if the bulge is a pollen bag?
I shot one the other day with the same thing, except the color was more towards orange and the shape was more like a gumdrop.

 
I think it is
a bunch of pollen. If so, it could vary in shape and color.

 
Great, that's what I thought.
Glad to see it on yours, too, as a small nagging doubt said "disease". But hey, the bees both looked healthy.
