Eastern Lubber - Romalea microptera - male

Eastern Lubber - Romalea microptera - Male
Beverly Hills, Citrus County, Florida, USA
June 29, 2008
Size: approx. 65mm
After finishing my hedge-trimming I noticed I'd displaced a resident. It was very cooperative during our photo shoot, especially since I'd offered it this twig to latch onto when I spotted it struggling on its back. Afterwards it went off to explore some pusley.

Update: This shot replaces the one shown here.

Hello, Elissa. I found this image very amusing when I came across it the other day! However, the image submission guidelines ask that you "Please do not include any other text or markup in the image." While it is quite humorous, the intent of this site is primarily educational and we would like the images in the guide to remain as professional-looking as possible. Would you be willing to resubmit this image with the text removed? If this is not possible, I will (regrettably) be moving this image to Frass. Thanks!

Whoops!
Sorry for my mistake, though I'm glad you enjoyed! I found a similar shot of the same specimen, so have uploaded that in place of the other. Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for taking care of that, Elissa!
Apparently, I'm not the only one who was a fan... check out this forum post (if you haven't already read it).
