black and red Flea Beetle - Disonycha leptolineata

black and red Flea Beetle - Disonycha leptolineata
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
June 8, 2005
I didn't see an exact match in the leaf beetle pages. It's so close to the Passion Flower Flea Beetle, but none of the images in the guide have these two white "patches" on them.

i'll seek expert review -- looks more like discoidea to me
[intermediate between the 'regular' form and 'abbreviata']

Moved
Moved from Disonycha.

This is an abberant specimen
This is an abberant specimen and I'm guessing D. leptolineata, not D. discoidea, since it has white/cream in the pattern. Very unusual. If you ever find more of these forms please collect some for me.

Thanks
I doubt I'll ever see it again since I've moved to WA. Sorry.

Moved from Flea Beetles.

I think . . .
. . . . you can move it to Disonycha.
