Golden Tortoise Beetle - Charidotella sexpunctata - male - female

Golden Tortoise Beetle - Charidotella sexpunctata - Male Female
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
June 8, 2005
All three were stacked up mating before I interrupted them. At least one of them is confused.

confused, or just persistent -
I've seen this behavior in leps too - seems like when a receptive female is found, males jostle for position while they have the chance. Nice shot!
