I found 2 of these beetles today inside my house. Are they a wood boring beetle or weevil?

here. Recent comments on other images (by one of our experts) suggest you should consider the possibility they are in your house after bedbugs, a favorite prey apparently. They do eat other small creatures, though.

 
Interesting.
We are getting lots of postings of these. Now I'm wondering if there has been an explosion of swallow bugs (related to bed bugs, but parasites of cliff swallows) that has caused a ripple effect in the abundance of masked hunters....?
