Noctural Velvet Ant ?

Noctural Velvet Ant ?
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA
June 19, 2008
Came to black light.

Moved to the subfamily Sphaeropthalminae
Moved from Velvet Ants.

Definitely a nocturnal mutillid
This one is possibly Sphaeropthalma parapenalis because of the coloration and cloudy wings, but these can't be reliably identified without a microscope.
