No disrespect meant (Shouting)
Hey, I thought it was a prominent, too, I was sure of it. This one has been bugging me for a long time--the pattern was so distinctive, but I could not find a matching prominent in Covell or on the MPG plates--a real puzzler. I'd seen it twice, too, so it couldn't be that uncommon. Today I saw a listserve note about Randy Newman's moth photos from Fort Macon State Park here in NC, and there it was. Mystery solved--that's why I was exalting so.

Thanks for your help. A hypothesis, even if incorrect, is very helpful.

my guess is
it's the same species as the one Patrick found in May 04,
