Metallic Wood-Boring Beetle (B. adjecta) - Buprestis aurulenta

Metallic Wood-Boring Beetle (B. adjecta) - Buprestis aurulenta
near Mill City, Marion County, Oregon, USA
June 19, 2007
Believed to be depositing eggs into dead log. Day was extremely hot around there (mainly heat coming off rocks), this area had large talus, quite a few large dead logs, mix of oak, conifer, & maple trees around there. Interesting sight to see.

Moved
Moved from Buprestis adjecta.

Buprestis aurulenta
The costae are wrong for B. adjecta, there are too few and they are too prominent.

:-)
Most of us err the other way, calling adjecta "aurulenta!" Hey, he is in the ballpark at least. I'll move the image.

Thanks
Thanks

Any clues to what they're rig
Any clues to what they're right for? My insect identification is amature at best.
-oops you answered that with the title my bad.
Thanks, is there a way to move it?
