Velvet

Velvet "Ant" (D aureola) - Dasymutilla aureola - Female
near Mitchell, Polk County, Oregon, USA
March 31, 2006
Near Mitchell (between Monmouth & Camp Adair, small town), on the side of Sauerkraut Rd, in gravel. Open area near Christmas Tree farm, on a mild hill. It's been a while but it was pos around 1/2", too small of a critter.

Nice.
Nice image anyway! I remember finding these in the hills around Corvallis when I was at Oregon State....
