Robber Fly - Holopogon
Barneveld Prairie SNA, Iowa County, Wisconsin, USA

Size: ~ 1/3 inch
Relatively abundant this day on the ends of small brown stems on chest high plants, prairie.

I believe it to be Holopogon.
