Found on a railing below an Elm species tree (Ulmus). Seems to be the same species as this specimen

strange,
strange one. I'm not coming up with anything obvious from Gordon's ref. on this one. Do you have any other images? It could be a variation Adalia bipunctata, or possibly Harmonia, or "C" - none of the above (introduced sp.?).

I added a second picture which shows the head and pronotum. This is the second specimen I have seen and photographed, the first being several weeks before this, and having the same markings, but sadly the images on that were very blurry. I will upload it temporarily for comparison.

Thanks,
I'm still quite stumped - they just seem like you took two or three differnt genera and glued them together. Sometimes I need come back a few days later for a fresh look (or just have an expert tell you in 5 seconds and be done). I would suggest keeping these on the family page, eventhough the images are a little burry, as I don't believe we currently have this species in BugGuide, or at least this species coloration.

btw, instead of linking images of two different individuals, you can post the second one sparately and then "reference" it in the first individual's writeup by using a thumbnail link "".
