Size: ~2cm
There were plenty of mantisflies to be caught in this canyon, and each one could be seen devouring one insect after the other. It's hard to see in this photo but the insect's face and forelegs are covered in scales from the moth's wings. You can also just make out this female's ovipositor between her wings.

My favorite part of this photo (other than that the main scene is more or less in focus) is that I just happened to catch those two lacewings in the background right after take-off.

Very nice image, especially of those in-flight lacewings:-) The mantispid is in the genus Plega.
