Dragonfly Over Creek - Cordulegaster obliqua - female

Dragonfly Over Creek - Cordulegaster obliqua - Female
Wayne, Wayne County, West Virginia, USA
May 31, 2008
I watched this dragonfly hoover over a small creek, occassionally dipping its tail to the water, so I assumed it was depositing eggs. I'm sorry for the poor picture quality, especially of the tail region, so this should be frassed if it is ever identified.

Moved from Dragonflies.

Nice spiketail. Not the best angle, but I think the pattern is right for Arrowhead (Cordulegaster obliqua).

Thanks Jason.
