I'll take a stab at it.
My guess would be Carpenter Ant and maybe Camponotus noveboracensis.

Color matches
That seems to be the only carpenter ant with a black-red-black color pattern.

 
I agree
I usually don't know enough about ants to ID to species but I'll say color can't be used with most ants. It is a Camponotus, but colors can vary with the region, and even be different for ants in the same colony.
Camponotus chromaiodes also has Black-Red-Black. I believe it is C. noveboracensis just because this one has less gold hair on the abdomen than I'm used to seeing.
