Eyed or Appalacian Brown - Satyrodes appalachia

Eyed or Appalacian Brown - Satyrodes appalachia
Kingston, Washington County, Rhode Island, USA

I'm leaning toward Eyed Brown

Despite
The waviness, this is an Appy.

Thank you
Thanks for all of your input people!

habitat?
What was the surrounding habitat? Often easier that way. Appalachian bordering woods, Eyed way out in wet meadows.

I'd lean towards Appalachian as the innermost line seems fairly straight, but not sure.

not an expert,
but I pulled out Glassberg to see what he had to say... my first reaction was Northern Pearly-eye...

For an Eyed Brown, Glassberg indicates there should be a 'tooth' (line) jagging inward on the hind wing basal line near the second vein from the leading edge. This one does not have that. And for the Eyed Brown, the eyespots should be of nearly equal intensity.

Southern Pearly-eye antennae clubs sb orange/yellow with no black.

Creole has five eye spots on forwing.
