Now I'm wondering if the others are identified properly, or if they're earlier instars that look different than this late instar.

Southeastern Arizona has
this for Western Tent Caterpillar [ MONA 7702 ] (Malacosoma californicum) here. Don't know why they look so different from what we have in BugGuide??

If it helps, this one was eating oak leaves.

Gut response is Malacosoma
and we have some close in the guide but not quite the same
and .
