Checkered Beetle? - Phyllobaenus humeralis

Checkered Beetle? - Phyllobaenus humeralis
Milton, Massachusetts, USA
June 8, 2005
Size: 4mm
This little beetle was acting like a small wasp, running around on leaves, then quickly flying to the next one. If I didn't look closely, I would have passed it off as a small ichneumon.

Moved
Moved from Phyllobaenus.

Phyllobaenus humeralis
*

Yes, Cleridae.
Nice work on the ID! This is probably Phyllobaenus sp. Apparently they are not uncommon, but they are so tiny:-)
