Unfortunately, we had to take it down less than a week later. Every time the garage opened it took the back of the nest off and there was a flurry of activity. My 10 year old went out too soon after this and got stung 3 times. We called a guy, there just wasn't going to be a way to make this work given where they made camp. I was so bummed.

There is a method of relocation, but it can be complicated.

We actually researched that but the problem was the location in the corner of the garage. With the trim work, angles, and curve of the back door. It just didn't have the access we thought we'd need to do it ourselves. So we did call all the places listed as "saving" pests, but they did not do wasps, it was all raccoon, skunk, etc. relocation. The nest looks like it has, at the most, no more than 20 workers, too bad we live so far apart else I would have volunteered to come relocate it for you! I wouldn't recommend relocating anything larger, they can become very vicious and in large numbers are very hard to deal with.

If that area is a bad place for them to build, you should be sure to wash off all remnants that may be left of the nest in that corner. Such nest remnants are very attractive to spring queens, for some reason. You don't want another nest to start up there in the spring.
