Multi colored beetle with large mandable, (maybe some type of dung beetle) - Tetracha carolina
Theriot, Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, USA
July 3, 2008
There were two of them in a tall grass, wet enviroment

This beetle is built just opposite the way a dung beetle is.
Dung beetles are squat, powerful, with tiny mouth parts and a wide, flat, shovel-like face for moving manure around. Their eyes are usually small and flat on their face and their antennae are short and lamellate.
