Anthidium - Anthidium manicatum

Anthidium - Anthidium manicatum
Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
July 6, 2008
Really no clue on this... Stratiomyidae was the closest I could come up with, but I might be completely out to lunch.... Behaving like a large overweight drone fly - all over the foxgloves. Three photos of the same guy. Would appreciate any help!

Thanks for such a fast response! Have never seen a bee like this one here before!

It's a bee, isn't it?
Check the eyes and antennae. Neat critter!
