Polyphylla occidentalis (Linnaeus)
This is a male of P. occidentalis (Linnaeus) - it is restricted to the sandhills and coastal plain in NC. In the mountains you have P. comes - easily distinguished by the clumped vittae - never in clear lines. Nice shots. The females have much smaller antennal club.
