Angel Moth - Olceclostera angelica

Angel Moth - Olceclostera angelica
Salt Point, Dutchess County, New York, USA
July 9, 2008
This moth has been hanging out on a window screen all day long. It took me a while to identify it, but it is definitely an Angel Moth. This shot is from underneath, and shows quite clearly the transparent 'windows' on its wings (somewhat out of focus), together with some interesting white markings on its body.

A bizarre-looking creature, but it had me fascinated all day long as I tried to identify it.
