Nasty hunched little spotted grubs found clustered on thistle plants - Leptinotarsa juncta

Size: About 1/4"
I found these grubs clustered on several thorny thistle-like plants in our border. Wasn't sure if they're something beneficial or harmful. Any help?

You guys are right!
So it is a false potato beetle larvae. Is this something I should try to control, or just let be? They seem pretty isolated to these weeds, but I'd hate for them to eat the milkweed next to them, as I'm hoping to some Monarch larvae will be on those at some point this summer.

Not to worry. They will only feed on Solanum and wont touch your milkweeds.

The plant looks more like a Solanum
and the larvae are likely to be Leptinotarsa in the guide here
