Cicada from Railroad Prairie - Cicadetta

Cicada from Railroad Prairie - Cicadetta
Gardner, Grundy County, Illinois, USA
July 10, 2008
Size: ~1.5 in length
This cicada was found in a high quality railroad prairie along old Route 66 just south of Gardner, IL. It's much smaller than the Tibicen that I'm used to from around these parts.

Cicadetta
This genus has longer wings and thorax than Beameria. I don't know which one would be all brown, like this.
