"Orange-dog" with osmeterium partially extended - Papilio cresphontes

Size: Approx. 2 inches
Probably fifth instar. Found on our key-lime tree. We used to have about 5 of these, but this one seems to be the only one that made it to its fifth instar.

Oy - what a stink from those glands. I wanted to get a shot of them fully extended, with the caterpillar's back arched. Unfortunately the osmeterium/posture was consistently as you see it here by the time I got the image in focus.

Nice specimen, though.
