Union, Union County, Oregon, USA
May 18, 2005
This was a tiny little spider that I took a pic of when i was bored trying to get pics of butterflies and I didnt even know it was eating a grasshopper till I loaded the pics on my computer .. does anyone know what it is ???...
Thanks in advance..

Strange angle,
but it might be Lynx check here

I agree.
Definitely a lynx spider, and a male, as evidenced by those big, swollen palps he's holding his prey with. Welcome, Marion, from a former Oregonian (I grew up in Portland).

Thanks
ya that looks like him .. i was looking straight down on the leaf when i noticed him and took the pic .. i can get my camera within 1.2 inches from the subject
thanks again

Leafhopper
Not the spider, the prey. Spiders are outside my interest and expertise I'm afraid to say, so I can't help you there.
