In CA there is only one Mallophora. It is M. fautrix. A fine one.

Are in your yard it would be great to see a shot of the female creating her white egg mass for comparison to the other two species we have this on.

It *is* cute...
but maybe the part about grabbing unsuspecting victims out of the air, pumping them full of digestive enzymes, sucking them dry, then leaving an empty shell for a corpse might have something to do with it...

Come to think of it, though, that would be par for the course for some celebrities...

 
but, i mean,
u'll find a stuffed croc ot tiger in every toy store... But just wait till a legal requirement pops up to post 'Predator -- Parent discretion advised' label on each teddy bear
