Polyfrusus sericeus
Det. & comment per Dr. Burke:
Polyfrusus sericeus (Schaller). This is another introduced species (from the Old World) that occurs in the northeastern US.

poly-Drusus?
I find no Web mentions at all for Poly-Frusus, but plenty for Poly-Drusus, so I'm guessing a simple typo is at the root of the matter.

Weevil - Polydrusus sp.
We are having a population explosion of these weevils now, near Chicago. (June '05).
Cute little guys, like to play dead if you bother them.
(Seems to be par for the course with weevils).

Thanks Bruce. So far I've seen 3 of these beetles. I also see Robin McCleod has a picture in the guide with comments and links showing the identification as Polydrusus also.
