Size: 8 mm
This beetle came to lights at night and was common in this area. I think it's one of the scarabs?

Species ID?
According to the entomologists who set up the night lights and led the field class, this is probably
D. backii
. Not sure if the photo shows the species-level characters well enough, though, so will leave at genus for now...
