Mushroom geotrupid - Geotrupes balyi

Mushroom geotrupid - Geotrupes balyi
Windham, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
July 11, 2008
Size: about 15 mm
I noticed this beetle kept its left antenna tucked entirely away during my first shoot. A day later the left antenna was extended a little but never fully. I wondered if it had been injured or strained.
