Coryphista meadii - Rheumaptera meadii

Coryphista meadii - Rheumaptera meadii
Brighton, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
July 13, 2008
I had to crawl around in the dirt under a small tree, turn upside down and click my heels together to get this one. I could never have spotted it if I hadn't seen it fly in there. I love the way the wings look like someone has outlined them with a Marks-a-lot (or Magic Marker for you old-timers). I went through the Geometrids, which is probably not where it belongs, and everything looked the same after awhile. It's a medium-sized moth. The elevation there was 8700 feet. Does anyone have a clue what this is?

Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to find that.
