This hornet has captured its prey in my sickle pod patch. The photo may not be sharp enough to identify its prey but it would be interesting to know.

although the prey looks a little too chewed up to get an ID on what it is. It was most likely some type of fly being that these wasps are primarily fly catching experts.

Thanks. Whatever it was it diasappeared quickly in the jaws of the hornet.

They turn a piece of food into a pulp and take it to the babies.
