Looks like
a male and as a guess I would say toxomerus marginatus.

Tough call
I'd say incompletely patterned Toxomerus geminatus from the one clear set of vertical markings on the thorax. (By vertical, I mean parallel to the long sides of the abdomen and centered between them.)

There's sort of a keyhole shape to the markings I'm referencing; see example below:

Kind of tough
for me to see, Ron, but it could very well be geminatus. A top view would be nice.

Agreed.
I'd suggest this stay at genus, i.e. Toxomerus.

On second look, Toxomerus geminatus
.

I would have to go with...
Toxomerus geminatus...

but this is a difficult Genus to identify...

_EDIT_

I started working on this shortly after you initially posted this and the wife came home so i stopped.

I didn't check to see if there were any changes before finishing and submitting... But it is funny that we both picked the same image :)

Syrphidae
Someone else may be able to get this to genus or species... Probably a male, based on eyes?
