Size: 1 inch long
What kind of beetle? Found this 1 incher on my patio this morning, moved it to the top of the patio table for 2nd picture.

I think this is the Ten-Lined June Beetle.

Yes.
This is a male of 'one' of the many species of Polyphylla. There are several species that look nearly identical. Female specimens have very small antennae.
