Ranchman's tiger moth - Platyprepia virginalis - Female
Kaslo S. Rd., ~ 2.7 km SW of Mirror Lake, Central Kootenay, British Columbia, Canada

A female of the yellow hindwing variety expanding its wings. Emergence always took place between 5-10 a.m. or close to midnight (only 2 such cases).
