shot is clear enough, but
I can sort of see it, but a better shot would be slightly more dorsal and between the mid and hind legs, like this

I misunderstood
I was looking at the border between coxa and metepisternum. More photos have to wait until the pinned specimen is dry enough to move.

I think the episternum itself is convex.

from what I can see
it sure looks concave. If this turns out to be Nothopleurus, would have to be madericus. Only two species here. You also have Neomallodon in AZ.
