Curious as to what this is

Curious as to what this is
Timmins, Northern Ontario, Ontario, Canada
July 16, 2008
Just wondering what this little guy could be. We have seen dozens of them in our home as of late. Last year not a single one, we now have seen them pretty much everywhere from our salad bowls and bed to out washroom and couch in the basement.
Just wondering what could be causing this little outbreak of them. There has been alot of rain here this year other then that everything is pretty much the same

Moved
Moved from Carpet Beetles.

Looks like it may be a
dermestid beetle larva. the can often be a huge problem.

Agreed.
Larvae of Dermestidae feed pretty much exclusively on dried animal products, including dry carcasses of decased animals, cured meats, taxidermy mounts, dry pet food, wool blankets and garments, furs, even the accumulated shed hair of people and pets. Find the infested item and discard it, and you should have no more problem.
