Ant - Camponotus

Ant - Camponotus
Hinsdale County, Colorado, USA
June 16, 2008
I'm just trying out a new camera. It's an ant, obviously. Formicidae, but I can't take it further than that. Maybe a carpenter ant?

I agree.
It appears to be a major Camponotus worker. One of our ant experts might be able to give a species.
