Size: body about 1 1/4" long
I found this cicada last night at work here in Seymour, Tennessee. the body was about 1 and a quarter inches long and the total length including the wings was about 2 inches. Im thinking Lyric Cicada, but im not sure so I'll wait for a confirmation before i put it in the guide.

Tibicen lyricen (dark form)
This species is highly variable. I lived in Nashville for a couple of years and I recall seeing several of these during my stay there.
Although similar to T. tibicen (chloromera), T. lyricen has brown legs and a black stripe ventrally along the abdominal midline. Typically, T. tibicen has green eyes, while those of T. lyricen are dark.

Thank you!
Thank you so much for this information! T. lyricen was the one I thought it was.

Tibicen.
I'm thinking Tibicen chloromera, but I don't know of an official "common" name....Let's see what Andy Hamilton says.

thanks for the info!
