Large Cocoon

Large Cocoon
Baton Rouge - BREC Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
July 15, 2008
Size: 4.4 cm long
So I did an autopsy of sorts on the cocoon.
I am a retired chemical engineer, so I don't have much of an idea of what I should find.
I will post images of three PowerPoint slides that attempt to illustrate what I found.

I tried to carefully cut the outside wall of the cocoon all the way around. I looked in after the initial slit. I don't think the autopsy did much of the damage. I think that was done by what ever went out the hole.
