flesh fly - Sarcophaga

flesh fly - Sarcophaga
Lake County, California, USA
June 10, 2005
Size: 1 inch?
I know there are already pictures of this, it's just that the markings came out so well on this shot.

No house flies yet
Believe it or not there isn't a single image of Musca domestica in the guide. It is about time that somebody gets a picture of one.

Flesh fly.
This is a flesh fly, genus Sarcophaga. They are WAY bigger than house flies, and the scarlet "tail" gives it away instantly.
