Little lumpy lady (Gea heptagon) - Gea heptagon

Little lumpy lady (Gea heptagon) - Gea heptagon
Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, USA
July 18, 2008
Size: about 5mm
This little orb weaver's vertical web is so close to the ground that I cannot hope to get a front view of her eyes unless she catches something. I can see hints of several spider families in the body bumps but nothing convincing is yet obvious to me given the overall aspect. (edit update - Jebus31 points out the Genus Gea which I had not noticed before and had not included in my possibilities - I am quite comfortable with the ID of Gea heptagon.)
