With precise movement, this female would plant the base of the stalk on the grass, then move the abdomen straight up and release the egg on top. These 3 eggs were laid in about a minute. Here she is preparing to plant a fourth egg stalk.

The markings look similar to a species I've shot before, and seem to match Chrysopa oculata (Golden-eye Lacewing) in Arnett, p. 351, (1).
