Rocky Mountain populations al
Rocky Mountain populations along the front range are always green but are classified as Chrysochus cobaltinus. Go figure.

Diet question
John, I found a few of these apparently feeding on
Monardella
and dogbane flowers yesterday, at about 6600' elevation in the Sierra Nevada. One is a deep metallic blue, and the other is quite purple. Given that one was on dogbane, I naturally wondered if
auratus
might be a possibility. Any thoughts? Would photos of the specimens help? Milkweed is pretty scarce for miles from where these were. Thanks!
