Polistes metricus ?
I'm not sure why the second pic looks so red as compared to the first but....
Please help with ID.

P. metricus
or P. fuscatus. We would need a real expert to tell, and without a side shot showing the "sternum 2" even an expert might not be able to tell for sure.

Polistes metricus, female (OK)
In this case it's actually easy because the wasp is from Oklahoma. Towards the west P. fuscatus always has a considerable amount of yellow, which this female does not have.
